Indira Gandhi Culture Centre is organising an Evening of Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi Dance Recital by Mrs. Malabika Sen from India, choreographed by legendary Guru Dr. Thankamani Kutty, at 6.30 PM on October 5, 2012 at the Main Auditorium of the Bangladesh National Museum in Dhaka. Mrs. Malabika Sen will also perform at 6:30 PM on October 6, 2012, at the Muslim Hall in Chittagong, at 6:30PM on October 8, 2012, at the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Hall in Rajshahi, and at 7.00 PM on October 10, 2012, at the Town Hall in Rangpur. Mrs. Malabika Sen is one of the leading exponents of Bharatnatyam and Kuchipudi Indian Classical Dance forms in India. She commenced training in dance at the young age of 6 years and subsequently completed her Masters in Dance from the Prachin Kala Kendra University of Chandigarh in India with distinction and the title of “NRITYA BHASKAR” along with a Gold Medal. Since 1989, Mrs. Malabika Sen is training under legendary Indian Dance Guru, Dr. Thankamani Kutty at Kalamandalam in Kolkata. Mrs. Malabika Sen is a highly gifted and talented ICCR empanelled dance artist who has performed at almost all major platforms in India and abroad with great success and distinction. In particular, her performances received rave appreciation at the Konark Dance Festival, the Kaladarpanam Festival, the Kalaghoda Festival and the Silver Jubilee Festival of RAWA in Mumbai among many others. She has awed the audience with her performances at Kuwait, Qatar, Dubai, Nepal, Australia, Singapore, France, UK etc. She has also performed to a spell bound audience at the India Mingle Festival and "Classic India" Concert at the Brownsmart Auditorium, Darwin, Australia and Visakha Dance Festival at Visakhapatnam. The Major performances of Mrs. Malabika Sen:- 1999 - Gulf Tour of nearly three weeks performing in 5 Mega functions in the Indian Embassy Hall at Kuwait, Qatar (Doha & Dukhan) and Dubai, with 3 Workshops on Bharatanatyam Dances. 14th, Konark Dance & Music Festival, Konark, Orissa. “Ballygunge Music Conference” at Birla Shabha Ghar.
